We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly analytical Cost Accountant to join our team in the Manufacturing industry. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to delve into the core of our financial operations, taking a lead role in cost management, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our financial decision-making processes, providing key insights based on detailed cost and inventory analysis. Responsibilities:
1. Conduct ongoing analysis of manufacturing costs, inventory valuation, and margin analysis.
2. Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
3. Conduct monthly forecasts of revenues, costs, and inventory.
4. Analyze and monitor raw material inventory.
5. Participate in month-end close activities including the preparation and review of journal entries and variance analyses.
6. Maintain cost accounting system and cost ledger.
7. Perform physical inventories and monitor cycle count program.
8. Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research, and perform analytical studies in regards to cost analyses and profitability.
9. Work in a consultative manner with plant operations to improve cost management.
10. Develop and manage a business strategy in collaboration with senior management.
11. Support and assist internal department reporting requirements such as audit schedules, tax schedules, and others.
12. Ensure timely submission, accuracy, and validity of inventory, gross margin schedules to management.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
3. Strong knowledge of cost systems and manufacturing processes.
4. Experience with ERP Systems, preferably Oracle.
5. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
6. Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
8. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
9. Solid understanding of financial statements and general ledger.
10. Proven ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems.
11. Demonstrated experience with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
12. Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership in areas of responsibility.
13. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
14. Ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation.
15. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage a team.
16. Experience in business strategy development and implementation.
