We are looking for an experienced Permanent Cost Accountant to join our dynamic Accounting + Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to use your expertise in cost accounting to contribute to the financial health and success of our company. You will be responsible for managing and analyzing the costs of our company's products and services, ensuring accurate and timely monthly reporting, and maintaining the integrity of our inventory accounting. If you have a passion for numbers, a keen eye for detail, and a knack for identifying cost-saving opportunities, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare, analyze, and report monthly manufacturing costs, comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
2. Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research and perform analytical studies in regard to cost analyses and profitability.
3. Manage Bill of Materials (BOM), ensuring all costs are accurately captured and reported.
4. Collaborate with the operations team to streamline processes and identify cost-saving opportunities.
5. Conduct regular physical inventories and monitor cycle count program.
6. Prepare detailed account analysis, report, and journal entries for month-end close.
7. Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
8. Support and assist internal department reporting requirements such as audit schedules, tax schedules, and others.
9. Ensure timely submission, accuracy and validity of inventory, gross margin schedules to management.
10. Stay updated on industry trends and regulations to ensure compliance and excellence in all operations.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Cost Accountant or a similar role in the Accounting + Finance industry.
3. Strong knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOM), Monthly Reporting, and Inventory Accounting.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
5. Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.
6. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
7. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is a plus.
10. Experience with accounting software and databases.
