Job Summary:
  • Prepare journal entries, maintain, and reconcile ledger account
  • Review and report spending variances and create month-end journal entries to fix any coding errors
  • Interpret reports, records, and makes recommendations for managers
  • Summarize company spending information along with analysis
  • Prepare spending budgets
  • Report actual spending and compare to plans
  • Review and explain manufacturing variances
  • Develop cost models for manufacturing
  • Develop and report key performance indicators for manufacturing
  • Determine and update product standard costs
  • Prepare reports, analyze variances/standard costs
  • Analyze costs and recommends improvements
  • Collect data, allocate costs, and prepare reports that maintain the company’s cost accounting system
  • Establish cost accounting procedures & adheres to the processes
  • Gathers historical cost data on such activities as material purchases, labor, assembly, and other manufacturing expenses, etc.
  • Investigate cost structures for new and existing products & cost centers
  • Develop, implement, and/or maintain cost accounting best practices
  • Process work orders and analyze variances prior to posting
  • Data entry and maintenance of cost item master set up and bill of material data in SAP
  • Process and review all manufacturing accounting and work order transactions
  • Complete assigned general ledger account reconciliation

Job Requirements
  • BA/BS, MBA in Accounting or equivalent with 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Cost Accounting support of manufacturing/operations
  • SAP or other database experience and MS Office
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good math and organizational skills
