Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Apply your comprehensive understanding of manufacturing accounting to analyze and report on costs and profitability across the company.
2. Prepare and maintain detailed cost reports, highlighting areas of concern and identifying potential improvements.
3. Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to gain an in-depth understanding of our production processes and costs.
4. Conduct regular audits of reported costs, comparing actual to estimated costs, and investigate and explain any variances.
5. Develop and implement effective cost accounting systems and procedures, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
6. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing accurate and timely cost information to support these processes.
7. Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting and decision support.
8. Provide cost analysis and recommendations to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
9. Continually evaluate the effectiveness of cost accounting systems and procedures, identifying and implementing improvements as needed.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; an advanced degree or professional certification (such as CMA or CPA) is preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in cost accounting, specifically within the manufacturing sector.
3. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and the ability to accurately analyze and report on associated costs.
4. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to extract, interpret, and present complex data clearly and concisely.
5. Proficiency in relevant accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
6. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teams across the organization.
8. Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
9. Knowledge of relevant regulatory standards and compliance requirements related to cost accounting.
10. Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
