Our ideal candidate will bring 1-3 years of experience in Cost Accounting, working within a Manufacturer on completing financial reporting, reconciliations, journal entries, knowledge of BOM and manufacturing accounting.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Permanent Cost Accountant for our dynamic Engineering industry. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1-3+ years of experience in cost accounting and will be responsible for conducting comprehensive financial and cost analyses. The candidate will be expected to have a strong understanding of Monthly Reporting, Bill Of Materials, GL, and Cost Reduction.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, analyze and report weekly, monthly, quarterly gross margin analysis by product, customer, and division.
  • Assist in month-end closing, prepare journal entries as necessary, analyze inventory evaluation, inventory roll forward, and cost analysis.
  • Coordinate with IT department for system issues, maintenance, and development such as production, purchasing, import/export, accounts payable, accounts receivable, import/export IT, receiving, shipping, and other.
  • Analyze cost accounting data and assist with cycle count/physical inventories.
  • Maintain internal control documentation and test internal controls.
  • Prepare detailed account analysis and reconcile sales, cost, and inventory, liability accounts by customer type by division.
  • Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research, and perform analytical studies in regards to cost analyses and profitability.
  • Support and assist internal department reporting requirements such as audit schedules, tax schedules, and others.
  • Ensure timely submission, accuracy, and validity of inventory, gross margin schedules to management.
  • Work in special projects as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through 1+ years of related experience.
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software, and databases.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
  • Additional experience with Bill Of Materials, GL, Cost Reduction, and Monthly Reporting is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of difficulty.
  • The individual will be expected to work with minimal up-front guidance and take ownership of his/her work product.
  • The individual will work closely with all major functional leaders of the Company.
