Job Details
As a Plant/Cost Accountant, you’ll play a hands-on role in driving accurate cost reporting, analyzing production data, and supporting financial decision-making at the plant level. You'll work closely with operations and supply chain teams to understand what’s happening on the floor, and how it impacts the bottom line.
Maintain and update standard costs for raw materials, labor, and overhead to reflect current production realities
Investigate and explain cost variances, such as labor efficiency, scrap, and material usage
Manage inventory accounting across all stages—raw materials, WIP, and finished goods—including regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits
Prepare journal entries and reconcile accounts tied to inventory, production, and cost of goods sold (COGS)
Partner with plant leaders to analyze operational trends and uncover cost-saving opportunities
Help develop and refine budgets, forecasts, and cost reports that guide key business decisions
Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance
Translate data into insights that improve plant profitability, cost control, and process efficiency
