We are seeking a dynamic and highly analytical individual to join our team as a Cost Accountant. This pivotal role will be instrumental in the financial health and future growth of our company within the Engineering industry. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in Manufacturing Accounting, General Ledger (GL), ERP Implementation, and Monthly Reporting. If you have a passion for numbers, a keen eye for detail, and a knack for identifying cost-saving opportunities, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the entire cost accounting function including manufacturing accounting, inventory accounting, and cost analysis.
  • Implement and maintain robust cost accounting systems and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the ERP system.
  • Conduct regular GL reconciliations and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes and costs to identify cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations to management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with standard procedures and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets.
  • Provide financial expertise and insights to support strategic decision-making and business growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification will be considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in the Engineering or Manufacturing industry.
  • Proficient in Manufacturing Accounting, GL, ERP Implementation, and Monthly Reporting.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, practices, and standards.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and other accounting software.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial data in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
