The ideal candidate comes from another manufacturing plant with 5+ years of experience overseeing other cost accountants to drive efficiency and accuracy. You should have experience with full cycle supply chain cost accounting- manufactured and non-manufactured items such as freight, imports etc.

This is a hybrid position, working 3 days in office.

Job Details:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Cost Accounting Manager to join our finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong background in cost accounting, particularly within the manufacturing sector. The Cost Accounting Manager will play a critical role in driving and supporting financial planning, cost analysis, and profitability assessment. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cost-of-sales budgets and will be responsible for managing all facets of cost accounting within the organization.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement cost standards for materials and labor. Design and implement cost control systems and procedures to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

2. Prepare, analyze, and report weekly, monthly, quarterly gross margin analysis by product, by customer type. Assist in month-end closing, prepare journal entries as necessary, analyze inventory evaluation, inventory roll forward.

3. Coordinate with IT department for system issues, maintenance, and development such as production, purchasing, import/export, accounts payable, accounts receivable, import/export IT, receiving, shipping, and other.

4. Analyze cost accounting data and assist with cycle count/physical inventories. Maintain internal control documentation and test internal controls.

5. Prepare detailed account analysis and reconcile sales, cost, and inventory, liability accounts by customer type by division.

6. Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research, and perform analytical studies in regards to cost analyses and profitability.

7. Support and assist internal department reporting requirements such as audit schedules, tax schedules, and others.

8. Ensure timely submission, accuracy, and validity of inventory, gross margin schedules to management.

9. Work in special projects as required.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance. CPA/CMA/MBA preferred but not required.

2. Requires 5+ years of cost accounting/finance experience in a manufacturing environment at a minimum.

3. Must have a strong cost systems background and have excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principles.

4. Experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standards.

5. Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.

6. Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office products. Strong experience in integrated ERP systems, such as Oracle.

7. Strong organizational and communication skills. Detail-oriented with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

8. Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.

9. Demonstrated ability to work well with senior management and across functions to achieve business objectives.

10. Experience with cost-of-sales budgets is a must.
