Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of cost accounting, including inventory valuation, variance analysis, and cost of goods sold.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Work closely with the production and supply chain teams to understand and analyze manufacturing costs.
- Develop and implement cost standards for materials and labor, and monitor and report on variances.
- Collaborate with the finance team to prepare budgets and forecasts, and analyze financial performance against these.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close process for cost accounting, ensuring all entries are accurate and completed on time.
- Drive continuous improvement in cost accounting processes and systems, identifying opportunities for efficiency and automation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Provide leadership and direction to the cost accounting team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous learning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. An advanced degree or certification such as a CPA or CMA is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting and account reconciliation.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting systems and processes, and experience with implementing improvements in these.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Excel and experience with ERP systems.
- High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of ethics and confidentiality.
