Job Details

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Cost Segregation Engineer to join our team in the public accounting. As a Cost Segregation Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting cost analysis of commercial, industrial, and residential building projects, performing physical site inspections, and analyzing construction cost data and design drawings. This is a permanent position that requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in the field.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct cost segregation studies for commercial, industrial, and residential building projects
  • Analyze construction cost data and design drawings to identify eligible assets for depreciation and tax savings
  • Perform physical site inspections to verify asset classifications and identify any additional cost savings opportunities
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings to clients and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with other members of the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with tax regulations
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations related to cost segregation and depreciation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost segregation, cost analysis, or a related field
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and design drawings
  • Experience conducting physical site inspections and identifying eligible assets for depreciation
  • Knowledge of tax laws and regulations related to cost segregation and depreciation
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Professional certification in cost segregation or a related field is a plus
