Job Details
Current experience should include working under the various state and federal statutory requirements for notification and remediation of electronic data breaches. In addition, successful candidates should have some experience with electronic data with varying security or privacy requirements, from electronic health records to personally identifiable information. Finally, experience should include professional and ethical interactions with clients with professional IT departments.

In this role, the junior associate will assist in researching and drafting up-to-date training and educational materials, participate in the investigation, recovery, and remediation of client electronic data following a breach, and participate in organizing all statutorily-required actions and notifications following a breach. The junior associate will also support the firm’s corporate litigation department, with a focus on electronic discovery issues, trade secret protections, and similar issues.

Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Texas State Bar.
- Education, training, and prevention of breaches and/or loss of electronic data, including disaster planning implementation.
- The capture, collection, and review of potential electronic data.
- Cybersecurity and/or data privacy breach response, including working with clients to recover data from malicious actors.
- Privacy requirements and cybersecurity best-practices, including post-breach remediation and related commercial insurance.
- Complex commercial litigation in state and federal court is preferred, with some experience in trade secret misappropriation or intellectual property infringement.
