We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Systems Administrator specializing in Cybersecurity and Office 365 (O365) to join our team in the Engineering industry. This role will require you to maintain, upgrade and manage our software, hardware, and networks. Your goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently. You will be responsible for managing our server and ensuring that our network is secure, reliable, and efficient. Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Install and configure software and hardware.
2. Manage network servers and technology tools.
3. Set up accounts and workstations.
4. Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements.
5. Troubleshoot issues and outages.
6. Ensure security through access controls, backups, and firewalls.
7. Upgrade systems with new releases and models.
8. Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies.
9. Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies.
10. Actively monitor system performance to ensure optimal operation and security.
11. Design and implement security systems and redundant backups to maintain data safety.
12. Write custom scripts to reduce the need for human intervention.
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role.
2. 5+ years of experience with systems administration and IT support.
3. Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN), and patch management.
4. Knowledge of system security (e.g., intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery.
5. Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms (Windows, Linux, etc.).
6. Experience with Microsoft Exchange, SCCM, COMPTIA, MCSE, Office 365, VMware, O365.
7. Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.
8. Excellent communication skills.
9. BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)) is a plus.
10. Ability to create scripts in Python, Perl, or other language.
11. Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms.
12. Knowledge of risk assessment tools, technologies, and methods.
13. Detailed technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems.
14. Excellent ability to multi-task and prioritize in a busy environment.
