We are seeking a Cytotechnologist to join our team in an onsite role within a healthcare system. This position operates on a Monday-Friday day shift schedule and includes a generous sign-on bonus.
Position Summary:
As a Cytotechnologist, you will accurately perform a range of routine and specialized procedures to detect abnormalities in cellular samples. You will handle specimen preparation, microscopic analysis, and immediate evaluation when needed, adhering to established standards and practices.
Responsibilities:
Receive and process cytology specimens, ensuring accurate identification, labeling, and accessioning.
Perform routine and advanced slide preparation for evaluation.
Identify abnormal cellular structures and submit findings for further review.
Provide clinical data and microscopic observations to assist pathologists in creating detailed pathology reports.
Maintain effective laboratory operations, adhering to specimen collection, safety, and quality standards.
Collaborate to resolve issues related to cases, tests, equipment, and supplies.
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in a related field with a one-year internship or formal training in a cytology lab.
Three years of experience as a Cytotechnologist (preferred).
ASCP certification in Cytology and current state licensure as a Histotechnician or Histotechnologist (required).
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting.
Proficiency in laboratory techniques and computer skills.
