Job Details

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintain 100% uptime of critical systems
  • Train to serve as a First Responder to critical infrastructure alarms
  • Accurately and promptly complete work orders
  • Handle tools and equipment with precision and care
  • Adhere to all company Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Work with vendors/contractors to ensure compliance with Switch standards
  • Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions
  • Perform collateral duties and tasks as assigned by management
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as required
  • Maintain a professional appearance
  • Additional tasks as assigned

Required Skills
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience in the general field as a full-time employee
  • Strong HVAC experience
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems in a data center environment, including:
  • Electrical feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, DC power, ATS/STS, PDUs, breakers, batteries, load bank connections
  • CRACs, AHUs, fluid coolers, pumps, cages, fire suppression systems
  • Knowledge of data center safety, electrical, and cooling designs
  • Ability to work any shift in a 24x7x365 operation (including weekends/holidays)
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Basic typing, email, and computer proficiency

Tools & Software
  • Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Education & Certifications
  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; Technical Trade School in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics preferred
