Database Administrator

Role and Responsibilities:
· Hands-on experience with MariaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL
· SQL query tuning experience: Adding/removing indexes, rewriting queries for better performance, InnoDB tuning and migrations
· Demonstrated scripting experience
· Exposure to database monitoring and visualization tools
· Percona toolkit and other database utilities
· Knowledgeable with database and table sharding and partitioning
· Familiarity with Group Replication, Galera, as well as MySQL asynchronous replication
· Exposure to NoSQL Databases (MongoDB, Dynamo, Redis, Couchbase etc.)
· Traditional Sysadmin as well as DevOps experience automating with Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Saltstack
· Experience running applications on containers, Docker, and experience with Kubernetes a plus
· Comfortable with cloud as well as non-cloud environments
· 3+ years of experience working as a Database Administrator, building, tuning, and maintaining databases, with a demonstrated history working in production and non-production environments, identifying opportunities to improve database infrastructure
· Experience monitoring for, responding to, and troubleshooting critical incidents
· Keep up with the latest technologies, desire to learn other areas of expertise and are willing to share your ideas with the team
