Job Details

The DCO Systems Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the uninterrupted operation and maintenance of mission-critical infrastructure at our data centers. This leader is responsible for managing all aspects of facility systems - including power, environmental controls, communications, and structural components - while ensuring compliance with our Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and the highest standards of quality and safety.

This role requires a hands-on leader who can mentor technicians, coordinate internal and external resources, and partner effectively with clients to deliver solutions that balance operational excellence with superior client service.

You will assist/oversee the replacement/refurbishment of equipment that has reached the end of its life, to include UPSs, cooling units, switchgear, and electrical distribution systems. Using electrical and fluidic diagrams, you will assist with creating/approving MOPs and SOPs that involve the new EVO product that is designed to keep up with the power and cooling demands of AI technology.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Culture
  • Lead and inspire a high-performing technician team; cultivate a positive culture aligned with our core values.
  • Mentor DCO Systems Technicians; provide performance feedback, lead evaluations, and support career development.
  • Act as the facility lead in the absence of a designated leader; provide technical and operational guidance.

Operations Management
  • Ensure 100% uptime of critical infrastructure through rigorous preventative maintenance and real-time issue response.
  • Oversee scheduling to guarantee 24/7 coverage, including on-call and Manager on Duty (MOD) responsibilities.
  • Lead operational reviews and cross-functional meetings to drive communication and alignment.

Client Collaboration
  • Coordinate installations and maintenance in compliance with AUP.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to clients, managing requests and delivering tailored solutions that support business continuity.
  • Promote strong client relationships through transparent communication and proactive support.

Project & Vendor Oversight
  • Manage infrastructure and construction projects, including planning, budgeting, and execution oversight.
  • Source and evaluate vendor proposals; oversee contractor performance to ensure alignment with our standards.
  • Coordinate vendor compliance, scheduling, and documentation, including monthly performance reviews.

Process Improvement & Compliance
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives; participate in department-wide committees and R&D efforts.
  • Create, maintain, and audit safety procedures, maintenance scripts, and OSHA compliance protocols.
  • Support audits and ensure accurate documentation for internal and client review.

Systems & Administrative
  • Utilize CMMS, BMS, and asset tracking tools to monitor operations and validate infrastructure health.
  • Submit and manage work orders via the Change Advisory Board (CAB).
  • Review and approve purchase orders and invoices; manage inventory of tools and site equipment

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • You will have 3 direct reports, two supervisors that a team of 11 technicians report to, and the chiller specialist who assists with the EVO product.
  • Directly supervise/manage technician team activities, including hiring, scheduling, training, development, and performance management.
  • Enforce company policies, national safety regulations, and department protocols.
  • Promote accountability, collaboration, and excellence in all team activities.

Qualifications:
Education & Certifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred, or equivalent technical experience.
  • OSHA 30 certification required; additional technical certifications strongly preferred.

Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of management experience in data center operations, facilities, or electrical/mechanical environments.

Technical Skills:
  • Deep understanding of data center systems: electrical feeders, switchgear, UPS, ATS/STS, PDU/RPP, HVAC, and fire suppression.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher).

Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communicator—both verbal and written.
  • Solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and discreet with sensitive information.

Additional Duties:
  • Support division-wide recruitment efforts and agency coordination.
  • Lead training initiatives and oversee technician testing and certification processes.
  • Participate in escalated P2+ incident bridge calls; manage onsite response and recovery efforts.
