About the Firm:
Our client is a nationally recognized law firm with a strong regional presence, committed to delivering client-focused legal services. Our Grosse Pointe Farms office supports a wide range of litigation and corporate practice areas, and we are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Paralegal to join our growing team.
Position Summary:
The paralegal will work closely with attorneys to manage case files, conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and assist with trial preparation. The ideal candidate will have experience in litigation and a strong understanding of court procedures in Michigan.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft and review legal documents including pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, motions, and correspondence
Manage case files from inception through resolution, ensuring organization and compliance with court deadlines
Conduct legal research and summarize findings for attorney review
Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including witness coordination and document exhibits
File documents with state and federal courts (both electronically and in person as needed)
Communicate with clients, experts, and opposing counsel in a professional and courteous manner
Maintain accurate billing records and time entries in accordance with firm policies
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree required; Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program strongly preferred
Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense or medical malpractice
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal practice management software
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced legal environment
Familiarity with Michigan court rules and procedures
