Job Details
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a team of engineers, driving the development of mechanical and electro-mechanical product designs from concept through production.
Create detailed 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks for complex assemblies and components.
Ensure all product designs meet ISO/ANSI standards, are manufacturable, and include complete tolerance schemes in SI units.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Procurement, and Quality teams to develop innovative, production-ready solutions.
Oversee engineering documentation control, revision history, and systematic part numbering for streamlined inventory and lifecycle management.
Apply deep knowledge in sheet metal design, electronic packaging, mechanism design, material selection, and automation systems to enhance product performance and reliability.
Design and review electrical schematics, interconnect diagrams, and wire harnesses to ensure cohesive mechanical-electrical integration.
Conduct and evaluate FEA simulations to validate structural integrity and performance.
Prepare and lead DFMEA and FMEA sessions to identify and mitigate design and manufacturing risks.
Develop custom test equipment and validation tools to ensure product robustness.
Generate and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) for accurate procurement and assembly.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related engineering field.
10+ years of relevant engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Mastery of SolidWorks, including 3D modeling, simulation, drawing standards, and data management tools.
Extensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical design principles, with hands-on experience in product development for real-world manufacturing environments.
Proven expertise in tolerance analysis, design for manufacturability (DFM), and value engineering.
Strong background in project management and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams from design through production.
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and part lifecycle management.
Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence, coordinate, and inspire cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced understanding of automation and robotics integration in hardware systems.
Experience with design verification, product certification, or regulatory compliance is a plus.
Familiarity with Agile or iterative product development methodologies.
