We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Detox Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others, a deep understanding of substance abuse and detoxification processes, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care. This role involves working closely with patients who are undergoing detoxification from drugs or alcohol, providing both physical and emotional support throughout their recovery process. This is a full-time, permanent position, and the successful candidate will be expected to work flexible hours to meet the needs of our patients.

Responsibilities:

1. Administer medications as prescribed by the physician and monitor patients for side effects and reactions.
2. Provide emotional support to patients and their families, helping them understand the detoxification process and setting realistic expectations for recovery.
3. Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients, adjusting as necessary throughout the detox process.
4. Monitor vital signs, administer IVs, and perform other medical procedures as necessary.
5. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
6. Educate patients and their families on substance abuse and the recovery process, providing resources and referrals as needed.
7. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with all regulations.
8. Utilize medical terminology and basic life support (BLS) skills as necessary.

Qualifications:

1. Must have a valid Registered Nurse license.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on substance abuse counseling and detox nursing.
3. Prior experience in psychiatric nursing is highly desirable.
4. Must have a solid understanding of medical terminology.
5. Must have current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
6. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex medical information to patients and their families in a clear and compassionate manner.
7. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
8. Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
9. Must have a compassionate and empathetic demeanor with a strong commitment to patient care and privacy.
10. Must be physically able to assist patients and perform necessary medical procedures.
