Our organization, a leader in the energy industry, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Direct Tax Analyst to join our team. This role will provide an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse team of professionals in a fast-paced and evolving environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for complex tax compliance, tax planning, tax analysis, and related tasks concerning federal, state, and partnership tax laws and regulations. This role will require a deep understanding of tax accounting, IRS regulations, state tax laws, partnership tax, real estate tax, and the use of CCH software.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and review federal, state, and local income tax returns and ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable tax laws.
2. Conduct detailed tax research and planning to minimize tax liability and ensure tax strategies align with company goals.
3. Analyze financial data to accurately calculate tax liabilities, credits, deductions, and ensure timely and accurate tax payments.
4. Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and tax accounting.
5. Review and interpret tax regulations and guidance to provide advice and recommendations to management on tax matters.
6. Manage tax audits and inquiries by government tax agencies, providing necessary information and documentation.
7. Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740.
8. Monitor and analyze changes in tax legislation that may impact the company's tax position.
9. Utilize CCH software for tax research, planning, and compliance activities.
10. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, developments, and changes in tax law.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree in taxation or a CPA designation is preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in direct tax compliance and planning, preferably in the energy industry.
3. Proficient in tax accounting, with a strong understanding of federal, state, and partnership tax laws and regulations.
4. Experience with IRS regulations, state tax laws, partnership tax, and real estate tax.
5. Proficient in using CCH software for tax research, planning, and compliance activities.
6. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret tax laws and regulations and apply them to company operations.
7. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
8. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
9. Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and excellence.
10. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
