Highly Preferred Qualifications:
- Oversee the development, management, and execution of the enterprise billing program, owning the revenue cycle management portfolio and driving improvements in key metrics across clearing houses
- Collaborate with revenue cycle and business office leaders at all organizational levels to meet or surpass key performance targets related to billing operations, including 837 files, billing edits, clean claim rate standards, billing errors and trends, and claim rejections and trends
- Lead business objective advancements and strategic initiatives through thoughtful planning, annual initiative alignment, and cross-functional collaboration
- Address issues as they arise, establish and enforce standard operating procedures when necessary, and participate in go-live implementations to guarantee a smooth transition
- Maintain clear and effective communication with stakeholders and provide timely updates and reports on key initiatives to the VP of Outsourcing and Strategic Initiatives, while managing staff productivity and quality parameters when applicable
Requirements:
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or an equivalent combination of education and a minimum of 8-10 years of related experience and/or training
- Have at least 5 years of experience in an acute hospital or facility revenue cycle environment
- Bring previous supervisory or management experience in areas such as billing integrity, revenue integrity, and billing processes, including oversight of billing for all payors and management of bridge routines
- Demonstrate prior success in implementing clearing houses and, preferably, in the rollout of an EPIC program within a large hospital setting
- Exhibit the ability to conceptualize and implement process and policy changes, drive shifts in corporate culture, and align enterprise strategy with the needs of individual business channels
- Proven ability to interact effectively with key stakeholders, hospital leadership, and team members while maintaining a high standard of professional business service
- Possess strong communication and relationship management skills, with an emphasis on fostering collaborative working relationships
- Show robust analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the capacity to analyze weekly and monthly metrics, discern correlations between data points, and develop actionable plans
Highly Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with IT hospital revenue cycle tools such as CHC/Relay Assurance (also known as ePremis, now part of Optum), EPIC, and Meditech is preferred
- Advanced experience in managing bridge routine files, including modifying files, performing CCI edits, and handling 835, EFT, ERA, and claim error trend analysis across multiple payors and states
- Basic proficiency in navigating Meditech and EPIC systems is also advantageous
