Job Details

We are currently seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Director of Accounting, Costing to join our thriving team. This role is integral to our financial planning and involves working closely with various departments to plan, study, and collect data to determine costs of business activity, such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor. The successful candidate will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and profit and loss reporting. This position requires a high level of accuracy and analytical skills, as well as the ability to interact with various levels of management.

Responsibilities:

1. Plan, study, and collect data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor.
2. Analyze data collected and record results.
3. Record cost information for use in controlling expenditures.
4. Analyze audits of costs and prepare reports.
5. Make estimates of new and proposed product costs.
6. Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
7. Maintain Cost Accounting System.
8. Assist in Month end close of the General Ledger.
9. Conduct physical inventories and monitor the cycle count program.
10. Reconcile finished goods inventories.
11. Prepare, analyze and report weekly, monthly, quarterly gross margin analysis by product by customer type.
12. Assist in the development of dashboards for easy understanding of key business metrics.
13. Perform cost accumulation tasks as a member of the target costing group.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, CPA is required
2. Minimum of 5 years of Accounting experience.
3. Must have a strong Cost systems background and have excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principles.
4. Experience working with engineers and executives personnel on development and analysis of cost standards.
5. Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
6. Experience with dashboards, budgeting, and forecasting.
7. Computer Literate – Strong Excel skills and the ability to use Outlook and Word.
8. Experience with an ERP system is a plus.
9. Experience with creating financial statements.
10. Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
11. Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
12. Accuracy and attention to detail.
13. Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
14. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
