Director of Accounting

We have been managing and operating hotels in the NorthEast for more than 20 years. With a portfolio including both independent and branded hotels we have grown to over 40 properties. We are growing and looking for a Director of Accounting to join our team!

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement financial strategies and plans that align with the company's overall objectives.
• Oversee the preparation of all financial reporting and ensure its accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate budgeting processes and implement cost control measures.
• Supervise and manage financial department staff, including accountants and financial consultants.
• Evaluate and manage investment strategies and financial risks.
• Collaborate with the executive team to make decisions on potential mergers, acquisitions, and investments.
• Develop and maintain relationships with external partners such as investors, banks, and auditors.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
• Establish and maintain robust internal control systems to prevent inaccuracies in financial statements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting is required
• MBA and/or CPA preferd
• 7 or more years of experience in a senior financial managerial position, with a proven track record of success
• Extensive knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, and risk management
• Strong understanding of data analysis, forecasting methods, and performance/operation metrics
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information in an easy-to-understand manner
