Job Details
We are on the hunt for a dynamic and detail-oriented Director of Accounting to join our growing organization. This position plays a pivotal role in our financial department, overseeing all aspects of our company finances. The ideal candidate is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a minimum of three years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry. They must have a solid understanding of financial management and possess the ability to implement systems and software to automate processes, thereby improving efficiency and accuracy.
The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to grow and develop their leadership skills and responsibly evolve into the CFO position within 3 to 5 years.
Responsibilities:
As the Director of Accounting, you will be responsible for:
1. Partnering with the Controller in managing the company's financial operations and ensuring compliance with legal and company regulations.
2. Overseeing the preparation and analysis of monthly financial reports, ensuring they are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
3. Developing and managing financial forecasting models to predict future revenue and expenses.
4. Implementing and maintaining systems and software to automate financial processes.
5. Collaborating with other departments to ensure all financial information is accurate and up to date.
6. Assisting in the preparation and management of the company's annual budget.
7. Providing leadership and direction to the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency.
8. Overseeing the office management duties, including the management of office resources and supplies.
9. Assisting with construction accounting tasks, such as job costing, contract analysis, and revenue recognition.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of three years of experience as an Assistant Controller or similar role within the construction industry.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred but not required.
3. Extensive knowledge of construction finances and financial management.
4. Proven experience in preparing and analyzing monthly financial reports.
5. Strong capabilities in financial forecasting and budgeting.
6. Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
7. Experience with implementing and maintaining systems and software to automate financial processes.
8. Solid understanding of construction accounting principles and practices.
9. Excellent office management skills, with the ability to effectively manage resources and supplies.
10. Exceptional communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
11. Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
