A bit about us:

We are a real estate developer with a focus on building student and young adult housing. We are looking for a Director of Capital Markets to join our team to help oversee the debt and equity components of our company. You'll be responsible for working through all financial / operation / compliance aspects of our properties, and manage a investment portfolio of 75+ properties.

We are seeking someone who has a strong background in Real Estate, ideally coming from either a PE or REIT company. Any bilingual proficiency in Chinese is an added bonus.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive capital markets strategy to support the company's growth initiatives, financial objectives, and risk management needs.
  • Oversee the company's asset management, ensuring maximized returns and minimized risks.
  • Conduct loan pricing, evaluating the risks and returns associated with different loan products and setting competitive prices.
  • Manage the company's investment portfolio, making strategic investment decisions to drive growth and profitability.
  • Build and maintain relationships with investors, lenders, and other key stakeholders in the capital markets.
  • Provide expert advice and recommendations to the executive team on capital market trends, investment opportunities, and risk management.
  • Lead the negotiation and execution of debt and equity transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards in all capital market activities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to align capital market strategies with overall business goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Real Estate, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree or certification (e.g., MBA, CFA) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within a PE or REIT company.
  • Proven experience in asset management, loan pricing, and investment management.
  • Strong knowledge of capital markets, financial instruments, and investment strategies.
  • Exceptional financial analysis and modeling skills.
  • Strong negotiation and deal-making abilities.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Bilingual in Chinese is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
