Director of Engineering (Fuell Cell + Clean Tech)

Title: Director of Engineering
Location: Portland, OR
Compensation: $140,000-$160,000 + Bonus

We are a clean tech, VC-backed start-up and we've developed a cutting-edge energy management system. Our technology combines high performance with low cost, renewable integration designed for a multitude of applications. We're in rapid-growth mode and just landed a huge round of funding, so we're in need of an experienced Director of Engineering with a clean-tech background to join our team!!

In this role, you will lead cross-functional engineering teams to develop its products. You'll facilitate product and platform strategy and set engineering direction and process discipline for the development of new products and improvements and/or maintenance of existing products. Main responsibilities will include (but won't be limited to):

1.) Oversee engineering organization with design authority; manage multi-discipline engineering groups
2.) Lead engineering team to development large energy storage systems based on IFB technology
3.) Maintain up-to-date engineering documentation
4.) Make contributions to improve product development processes and execution
5.) Collaborate with Program Managers to ensure road-maps are clearly defined and realistic
6.) Support customers with partnerships to identify needs/maintain current design with quality, cost, manufacturability and regulatory improvements
7.) Provide technical analysis/recommendations to executive leadership

REQUIREMENTS:

1.) BS in Engineering- MS Preferred
2.) 10+ years of experience in R&D, product development- at least 5 in a management capacity
3.) Strong experience in leading a large, multidisciplinary engineering teams
4.) Experience in engineering process and documentation management
5.) Experienced in interfacing with ops/mfg organizations during new product technologies introduction and scale to manufacturing process
6.) Experience with battery or fuel cell systems
7.) Product Certification would be a plus
