A bit about us:
An early stage startup that is looking to take on some major growth in the next 12 months is looking to bring on a Director of Engineering to help them continue to build out a top notch engineering team. The ideal candidate is someone who comes from a technical background (Python/Scala/Java) who is interested in taking on more of a leadership role with a small organization. This is a high impact role, where this individual will have direct say on engineering strategy and ideas for years to come. The rest of the Executive team is local to the Northern Virginia area, however they are open to this person to work entirely remote (EST or CST only). This is an amazing growth opportunity for someone who feels pigeon holed in their career and wants to see their work impacting the business from day one.

Job Details
- BS/MS in STEM related field
- 7+ years of experience working in a software development position
- 2+ years successfully managing engineering teams both onshore and offshore
- Experience using Python, Java, or Scala
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Experience working in a small/early stage startup
- Exposure to big data tools or streaming technologies such as Spark, Kafka is a huge plus
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience working in the healthcare sector is a plus
