We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic Permanent Director of Engineering to join our forward-thinking Manufacturing team. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced professional with a strong background in Mechanical Engineering and Production. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing multiple projects, leading teams, and driving product development in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The Director of Engineering will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Operations and will play a critical role in shaping the future of our company. They will be responsible for overseeing all engineering activities, including design, product development, and manufacturing processes. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of the manufacturing industry.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all engineering operations, including design, product development, and manufacturing processes, ensuring they align with the company's business objectives.
2. Lead and mentor a team of engineers, promoting a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
3. Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance productivity, reduce operational costs, and improve product quality.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient production processes and timely product delivery.
5. Manage pump production, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
6. Drive the development and implementation of new products, from conceptualization to launch.
7. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and team members, to ensure project goals are met.
8. Stay abreast of the latest industry trends and technologies, leveraging them to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree or Professional Engineer (PE) certification is a plus.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering leadership role within the manufacturing industry.
3. Solid experience with pump production, product development, and manufacturing process optimization.
4. Proven track record of managing teams and leading successful projects.
5. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
6. Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to make sound judgments under pressure.
7. Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a knack for identifying and resolving potential issues before they escalate.
8. Proficient in using modern engineering software and tools.
9. Up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations, and the latest manufacturing technologies.
10. Ability to travel as needed to oversee projects and meet with clients and suppliers.
