Jobot is partnering with one of the largest construction companies in the US looking for a Director of Environmental Health and Safety to manage a team of safety professionals onsite in Memphis TN. This position has a larger per diem, free health insurance, and a chance to participate in a 13 billion-dollar project for the next 4 years.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs and initiatives.
2. Ensure the organization complies with all current and future local, state, and federal EHS regulations.
3. Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
4. Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
5. Develop and deliver EHS training programs to educate employees about safety protocols and accident prevention.
6. Provide guidance and counsel to management on EHS matters, including risk management strategies.
7. Foster a culture of safety within the organization by promoting and implementing effective safety policies and procedures.
8. Liaise with regulatory bodies and maintain positive relationships with community and industry stakeholders.
9. Prepare and present regular reports on EHS performance to senior management.
10. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work-related injuries and illnesses.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Safety Management, or related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications will be an added advantage.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the construction industry with a focus on automotive manufacturing or airport construction.
3. In-depth knowledge of leading a larger team consisting of 5 EHS managers with each manager having 5 direct reports.
4. Proven experience in developing and implementing EHS programs.
5. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
6. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
9. Proficiency in using EHS management systems and software.
10. A strong commitment to promoting a culture of safety within the organization.
