Job Details

As the Director overseeing Finance and HR, your role encompasses the management of financial and human resources functions. Your key duties involve:

Finance:

Efficiently manage and communicate cash flow issues to management and ownership.
Coordinate the completion of forecasts and budgets, engaging with the Executive Team and department managers.
Analyze financial data to maintain the resort's financial objectives.
Ensure timely reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures for resource management.
Establish and audit internal financial controls, covering purchasing, cash handling, and payroll.
Prepare and manage financial reports, meeting company requirements and deadlines.
Conduct regular financial analysis, providing insights on revenue, cost control, and profitability.
Collaborate with department heads to implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality.
Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, banks, and financial institutions.
Ensure the resort's compliance with regulatory licenses, permits, leases, contracts, and operational taxes.
Human Resources:

Manage all HR functions, including recruiting, training, employee relations, wage and benefit administration, and worker's compensation.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and budgeting for HR-related activities.
Serve on the Executive Committee and be visible to employees throughout the hotel.
Oversee recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and retention of qualified employees.
Direct and administer the employee reward and recognition program.
Control the implementation, administration, and monitoring of all training programs.
Develop, implement, and administer policies and programs related to the management of hotel staff.
Ensure HR compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, and court rulings.
Be responsible for safety programs and Workers' Compensation benefits.
Maintain all hotel personnel records and HR files, ensuring confidentiality.
Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
Experience: Progressive experience in finance and HR roles, with a focus on the hospitality industry. Preference for experience as a Director of Finance in a hotel setting.
Financial Expertise: Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and management reporting. Familiarity with hotel accounting systems and revenue streams is valuable.
HR Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws, including recruiting, employee relations, training, and benefits administration.
Leadership Skills: Proven leadership and managerial capabilities in overseeing both finance and HR departments.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interaction with stakeholders from department heads to external partners.
Compliance Knowledge: Awareness of and adherence to regulatory requirements, labor laws, and industry standards in finance and HR.
