Purpose of the Position/ Role Summary:
The Director of Human Resources will work with the Chief Human Resources Officer and the Regional senior leadership to lead the strategic human capital initiatives for the region in the areas of talent acquisition, talent development, change management, cultural alignment, employee engagement, employee relations, diversity, equity and inclusion, high-potential employee management, performance management, organization design , workforce planning, compensation administration and talent analytics.

S/he will drive the business objectives of the region by identifying, developing and implementing HR programs and practices in support of the overall objectives of the business.

A strategic partner and advisor to the region leadership s/he proactively collaborates with the regional leadership to shape the impact of the region’s business strategies and initiatives by determining the significant people implications of those strategies and ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations.

Essential:
  • Bachelor’s in business or human resources or organizational development
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in human resources
  • Working knowledge of contemporary human resources best practices
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills – able to coordinate disparate individuals to meet a deadline
  • Sound balance between business partnership with management and employee advocacy
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem solving skills, and communication skills
  • Must be a team-player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service focus showcasing willingness and ability to interact professionally and effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Discretion and the highest level of confidentiality at all times as it relates to all people records
  • Working knowledge of HR management systems
  • Experience in at least two functional areas of human resources

Desirable:
  • MBA preferred
  • Certification in Human Resources such as PHR or SPHR preferred
  • Global experience preferred


Key Role Specific Requirements:

  • Coach, mentor and educate managers on ensuring all company standards and values are upheld to ensure a safe, and compliant work environment.
  • Provide expertise and guidance related to legal, Department of Labor, EEOC and other regulatory agencies compliance. Ensure Company’s policies and procedures comply with regulatory and legal standards.
  • Coordinate with the Chief Human Resources Officer and the regional leadership to develop an employer brand to continuously improve the employee experience to attract and retain top talent.
  • Working with the Global Chief Human Resources Officer provide HR expertise on mergers and acquisitions and subsequent cultural integration of all mergers and acquisitions.
  • Provide regional leadership with people metrics and analysis on internal and external HR trends and work with the leadership to develop workforce strategy to ensure employee staffing levels with the right skills are aligned with the region’s goals.
  • Lead and manage full life cycle recruitment for all open positions within the region, using standard Company forms from posting position to applicant tracking, background checks and references to approval for offer letter/contract.
  • Ensure a positive and welcoming onboarding experience for all new hires during the first 90 days and beyond. Work with QA and other functions to onboard new hires on regulatory requirements for the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Manage the performance review process ensuring that all reviews are completed on time (Including 30-60-90 and 120 for new hires and mid-year and annual for all others) are completed on time, with appropriate actions for development of the employee.
  • Work with Global Leadership and Development to articulate and develop training and development needs of the region. Ensure that all company-wide training programs are completed by the appropriate individuals in the region. Oversee and facilitate training workshops to deliver content when required.
  • Ensure that the Human Resources Business Partners are managing all Federal and State leaves of absences including but not limited to FMLA and maternity/paternity and address any critical issues.
  • Work with the regional leadership to implement the annual compensation and bonus plans based on the guidelines provided by the Global Chief Human Resources Officer. Develop reward and recognition programs to enhance employee engagement.
  • Provide guidance to line management on organizational restructuring; review impact on Company with Global Chief Human Resources Officer.
  • Working with the Human Resources Business Partners champion employee benefits and offerings, communicate them to employees timely and coordinate employee enrollment.
  • Working with the Human Resources Business Partners coordinate all exit interviews, look for a pattern in terminations and notify all relevant departments of the termination.
  • Work with the HR leadership to select and implement a new HRIS to include manager self-service and employee self-service. Ensure accuracy of all employee documents, data and changes in compliance with data protection and privacy regulations either electronically or in paper format.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure effective planning of resources and annual budgeting of headcount and people costs. Partner with Global Chief Human Resources Officer on organization restructuring and reporting relationships.
  • Recruit, retain, develop and manage Human resources Business Partners and Associates, Human Resources in the region and provide guidance and leadership to them.
  • Ensure that a succession plan is in place for self and direct reports.
