Job Details
We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive IT Director to lead and manage all aspects of the firm’s information technology infrastructure, security, and support systems. This hands-on leadership role will be responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and oversight of technology operations firm-wide, with a strong emphasis on system reliability, cybersecurity, vendor management, and staff development.

Key Responsibilities:
Technology Management & Operations
- Oversee the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems—including servers, PCs, telephones, software, and peripherals
- Ensure seamless integration of new technologies with existing systems and infrastructure
- Lead efforts related to copier and printer refreshes, hardware end-of-life cycles, and ongoing system upgrades
- Manage disaster recovery processes and business continuity planning
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Lead all aspects of network security, including monitoring threats to email systems, file servers, and endpoint devices
- Use advanced monitoring tools and enterprise antivirus systems to detect and mitigate threats
- Analyze log files and respond to incidents including virus infections and compromised systems
- Stay current with cybersecurity trends and industry best practices to ensure compliance and proactive threat management
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Develop and oversee the organization's long-term technology roadmap in alignment with business goals
- Evaluate emerging technologies and implement solutions to meet evolving user and system requirements
- Communicate regularly with executive leadership regarding strategic initiatives, system performance, and risks
- Manage software and hardware licensing, ensuring all contracts and maintenance agreements are current
Vendor & Financial Oversight
- Manage daily vendor relationships and ensure cost-effective solutions for IT and security needs
- Review and approve invoices from IT and security vendors, allocating costs appropriately across offices
- Translate technical specifications and proposals into clear, business-relevant recommendations
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and manage the IT team, including hiring, training, mentoring, and performance evaluations
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), internal documentation, and best practices for the department
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning
- Ensure team responsiveness to internal support needs, follow-up on unresolved tasks, and maintain 24/7 availability for critical issues
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Minimum 8–10 years of progressive IT experience, including 3+ years in a leadership or director-level role; Law Firm experience preferred
- Strong experience in network and systems administration, cybersecurity, and IT operations within a law firm or professional services environment
- Proficiency in managing VPNs, firewalls, traffic routing, and enterprise antivirus platforms
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex IT projects from concept to execution
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to convey technical issues to non-technical stakeholders
- Willingness and availability to be on-call 24/7 for urgent matters
