Job Details

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff, promoting professional development and continuous improvement.
  • Determine staffing needs and collaborate with HR to ensure consistent coverage within budget constraints.
  • Represent the nursing department in interdisciplinary meetings and organizational committees.
  • Oversee individualized healthcare plans to promote independence and overall well-being.
  • Collaborate with medical professionals, therapists, and care providers to ensure holistic client care.
  • Manage crisis situations and serious events involving clients.
  • Develop and implement policies to ensure regulatory compliance and promote best practices.
  • Manage ongoing quality assurance programs and implement corrective action plans as needed.
  • Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies, including the District of Columbia and Maryland Boards of Nursing.
  • Oversee the department budget to ensure efficient resource utilization.
  • Manage documentation, health records, and electronic healthcare systems (e.g., CRISP and HRST).
  • Stay informed about healthcare regulations and industry trends.

Job Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of nursing experience, including 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing in both Maryland and the District of Columbia.
  • Experience with intellectual disabilities, mental health, or behavioral health
  • Proven experience managing a departmental budget
  • Experience with Internal and external audit compliance and reporting
  • Proficient with crisis management and risk mitigation.
