We are seeking a skilled and experienced Director of Preconstruction to join our team. As the Director of Preconstruction, you will be responsible for leading and managing the preconstruction/estimating team to ensure successful project delivery. Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the preconstruction team to ensure successful project delivery
- Oversee the estimating, precon, ground up, commercial, higher ed, and & k12 projects
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Work with the project team to develop a comprehensive project schedule and budget
- Conduct value engineering to ensure the project is delivered within budget
- Assist in the negotiation of contracts with subcontractors and vendors
- Coordinate with the construction team to ensure a smooth transition from preconstruction to the construction phase
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies
- Continuously improve the preconstruction process to increase efficiency and reduce costs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in preconstruction management
- Excellent leadership and management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
- Knowledge of construction software such as Procore, Bluebeam, and PlanGrid
- Ability to read and interpret project plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Experience in value engineering and cost analysis
- Strong negotiation skills
- Knowledge of safety regulations and company policies
