We are in search of a dynamic and experienced Director of Procurement to join our team in the Food Manufacturing industry. This role is pivotal in overseeing and managing our organization's procurement functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food manufacturing industry, with a thorough understanding of FDA regulations, GFSI standards, and protein supply chains. The individual should also have a solid background in packaging, ERP, MRP, and D365 systems. CPSM certification is a significant plus.

Responsibilities

As the Permanent Director of Procurement, your responsibilities will include:

1. Overseeing and managing the entire procurement process and strategy for our food CPG manufacturing operations.
2. Developing and implementing procurement policies that align with the company's goals and regulatory requirements.
3. Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers and negotiating contracts to ensure the best quality, cost, and delivery times.
4. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand their procurement needs and ensure they are met.
5. Ensuring compliance with FDA regulations and GFSI standards in all procurement activities.
6. Managing the protein supply chain and ensuring its efficiency and effectiveness.
7. Overseeing the packaging procurement process, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
8. Utilizing D365, ERP, and MRP systems for procurement management and reporting.
9. Identifying and mitigating risks in the procurement process.
10. Providing leadership and direction to the procurement team, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement within the food CPG manufacturing industry.
3. Proven experience with USDA and FDA regulations, GFSI standards, and perishable goods supply chains.
4. Extensive knowledge of packaging procurement.
5. Proficiency with D365, ERP, and MRP systems.
6. CPSM certification is highly desirable.
7. Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
8. Strong leadership and team management abilities.
9. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
10. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
