Director of Procurement, Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management
We are seeking a strategic, hands-on leader to build and oversee the organization’s procurement, sourcing, and vendor management functions across a multi-site environment.
This role is responsible for ensuring purchasing activities are cost-effective, compliant, well-documented, and aligned with operational and financial goals, while driving vendor performance and long-term value.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Strategy & Leadership
Develop and lead procurement strategy, policies, and procedures
Analyze organizational spend and identify cost reduction opportunities
Provide reporting and insights to executive leadership
Standardize purchasing controls and approval workflows
Strategic Sourcing & Purchasing
Lead RFPs, RFQs, bids, and vendor selection processes
Evaluate pricing, service levels, and total cost of ownership
Support sourcing across operational, clinical, IT, and corporate categories
Ensure fair, competitive, and well-documented procurement practices
Vendor & Contract Management
Maintain centralized vendor and contract repository
Track renewals and evaluate contract terms proactively
Develop vendor scorecards and monitor performance
Partner cross-functionally to resolve vendor issues and optimize relationships
Compliance & Controls
Ensure adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and grant funding rules
Maintain complete procurement documentation and audit-ready files
Support audits, compliance reviews, and external reporting requirements
Strengthen controls around approvals, documentation, and purchasing activity
Process Improvement & Operations
Improve procurement workflows, systems, and documentation standards
Reduce off-contract spend, duplicate vendors, and unapproved purchases
Train internal stakeholders on procurement policies and best practices
Partner with Finance and AP to ensure alignment across procure-to-pay processes
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field
7+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, vendor management, or supply chain
Strong experience with RFPs, contract negotiation, and vendor evaluation
Proven ability to manage budgets, cost controls, and spend analysis
Experience building or improving procurement processes and controls
Strong Excel, reporting, and analytical skills
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with leadership and operational teams
Experience in multi-site, regulated, or complex organizations preferred
Exposure to ERP systems and procurement tools
