A bit about us:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Purchasing to join our finance team. This role provides an exciting opportunity to lead and manage all purchasing activities within our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for the procurement of dairy products, the development and management of RFQs, vendor relationships, sourcing, and contract management.
This is a hybrid position that requires 3 days/week onsite in Herndon, VA.

Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement purchasing strategies to ensure the company's supply needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.
2. Manage the procurement process for dairy products, including milk, ensuring quality standards are maintained.
3. Create and oversee the RFQ process, ensuring it is efficient and transparent.
4. Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, negotiating contracts to achieve the best possible terms for the company.
5. Oversee sourcing initiatives, identifying potential new suppliers and assessing their suitability.
6. Manage and monitor contracts, ensuring compliance and addressing any issues that arise.
7. Work closely with other departments to forecast demand and plan purchasing activities accordingly.
8. Keep up-to-date with market trends and changes in the dairy industry, adjusting purchasing strategies as necessary.
9. Lead, develop and motivate the purchasing team, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
2. 10+ years of experience in a purchasing role within the manufacturing industry.
3. Proven experience managing RFQ processes and negotiating contracts.
4. Strong vendor management skills, with a track record of building and maintaining positive relationships.
5. Excellent sourcing skills, with the ability to identify and assess potential suppliers.
6. Deep understanding of the dairy industry is preferred.
7. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
8. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions based on data.
9. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
10. Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
