We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Retail Sales to join our team. This is a permanent position that offers an exciting opportunity to drive sales and growth in our Food Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) division. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing effective sales strategies, leading nationwide sales team members, and ensuring our sales targets are met and exceeded. This role requires a deep understanding of the retail landscape and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders. The Director of Retail Sales will report directly to our Vice President of Sales.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive sales growth in the assigned territory and segment.
2. Lead nationwide sales team members to achieve sales targets.
3. Establish productive and professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts.
4. Negotiate and close agreements with large customers.
5. Monitor and analyze performance metrics and suggest improvements.
6. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts.
7. Perform research and identify new potential customers and new market opportunities.
8. Provide timely and effective solutions aligned with clients’ needs.
9. Liaise with Marketing and Product Development departments to ensure brand consistency.
10. Stay up-to-date with new product launches and ensure sales team members are on board.

Qualifications:

1. Proven work experience as a National sales manager or Director of Sales in the Food CPG industry.
2. Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization.
3. Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
4. Strong business sense and industry expertise.
5. Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills.
6. 5+ years of experience in Territory Sales, Prospecting, and Lead Generation.
7. Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
8. The ability to travel as needed.
9. A Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field. An MBA would be considered an asset.
10. Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
