Job Details

We are launching a new office in Houston and seeking a Director of Site Development to lead regional operations. This senior, market‑facing role will establish the office from the ground up, lead end‑to‑end site development projects, recruit and mentor staff, and drive business development to grow a profitable local practice. You will represent the firm to clients, local agencies and industry groups, own project technical quality and financial performance, and implement local processes that reflect our company’s high standards. This is an opportunity to shape a new office with the backing of an established land‑development firm and significant project experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead land development projects from concept through construction, ensuring technical quality, schedule and budget adherence
  • Provide engineering oversight for grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater, pavement and related sitework
  • Ensure compliance with local codes, permitting requirements and agency interactions
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships; communicate issues and mitigation plans clearly
  • Drive business development to secure projects and meet or exceed revenue goals for the office
  • Manage project financials: estimates, monthly forecasting, billing and margin performance
  • Hire, mentor and lead office staff; establish procedures and a collaborative team culture
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams (architects, surveyors, contractors, consultants) and represent the firm at public meetings and industry events

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in Texas, or ability to obtain licensure promptly
  • Minimum 6 years civil engineering experience with at least 3 years managing site/land development projects from concept to construction
  • Proven project management and client relationship skills; demonstrated track record of delivering projects on time and on budget
  • Experience with estimating, forecasting, and meeting revenue/financial targets
  • Strong knowledge of Houston‑area land development regulations and permitting processes preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership and office/staff management experience
