We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Permanent Director of Surgical Services to join our dynamic team in the medical industry. As the Director of Surgical Services, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the surgical department in our small community hospital. This is a permanent position that offers excellent benefits and opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide leadership and direction to the surgical services department, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.
2. Develop and implement strategic plans and goals for the department, in alignment with the overall hospital objectives.
3. Manage and allocate resources effectively to ensure efficient operation of the surgical services department.
4. Collaborate with other department heads and medical staff to optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction.
5. Develop and maintain policies and procedures that comply with regulatory standards and promote best practices.
6. Recruit, train, and evaluate staff members, fostering a positive work environment and promoting professional growth.
7. Monitor and analyze department performance metrics, implementing improvements as needed to achieve targets.
8. Stay updated with the latest advancements in surgical techniques, equipment, and technology, and recommend appropriate upgrades or changes.
9. Act as a liaison between the surgical services department and other hospital departments, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
10. Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and promote a culture of safety within the surgical services department.

Qualifications:

1. Registered Nurse in North Carolina or Compact state is required.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a charge nurse or supervisor in the operating room.
3. Prior experience working in an acute care setting is essential.
4. AA in Nursing is required, while a Master's or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
5. Current BLS certification is required.
6. Experience in a small community hospital is preferred, demonstrating an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in such a setting.
7. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
10. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in surgical services.
