Job Details
The Director of Transportation Compliance will be responsible for managing company-wide vehicle operations—ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining fleet reliability, and driving cost-effective solutions. This role is critical to maintaining operational excellence across a multi-state fleet.

- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License and eligible for company insurance coverage
- 5+ years in transportation compliance and fleet maintenance management
- 5+ years of supervisory experience
- Experience with vacuum trucks, combo jetters, air movers, street sweepers, CMVs, and related industry equipment strongly preferred
- Advanced knowledge of vehicle mechanics, preventative and emergency repairs, and DOT regulations
- Experience in vehicle procurement and inventory management for parts and fluids
- Familiarity with real-time equipment monitoring systems
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with drivers, technicians, and senior leadership
- Proficient in DOT and FMCSA regulations and maintaining a safety-first culture
- Experience using fleet maintenance software and Microsoft Office tools
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain company vehicles in compliance with safety policies and traffic laws
- Develop and execute weekly, monthly, and annual fleet review processes
- Monitor KPIs, monthly expenses, and financial forecasts
- Manage procurement of vehicles and oversee vendor relationships
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive maintenance and repair schedule
- Lead P&L responsibilities for maintenance and paint shop operations
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal vehicle regulations
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and registrations
- Assess fleet condition and make recommendations for refurbishment or replacement
- Analyze fleet performance metrics and implement improvements
- Oversee DOT compliance and lead driver training initiatives
- Collaborate with executive and regional operations leadership
- Implement and manage fleet tracking and maintenance software systems
- Lead capital expenditure planning for fleet upgrades
- Perform other duties as assigned
