Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our dynamic team as a Permanent Director of Urban Planning in the Engineering industry. As the Director of Urban Planning, you will play a crucial role in shaping and transforming urban landscapes through your expertise in urban planning, urban design, and strategic leadership. Responsibilities:

1. Lead and manage a team of urban planners and designers, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of projects.
2. Develop and implement comprehensive urban planning strategies, policies, and initiatives to enhance the functionality and aesthetics of urban environments.
3. Collaborate with various stakeholders, including government agencies, community organizations, and private developers, to create sustainable and inclusive urban development plans.
4. Conduct thorough research and analysis of urban trends, demographics, and economic factors to inform decision-making and optimize urban planning processes.
5. Oversee the preparation and presentation of urban design proposals, ensuring they align with the overall vision and objectives of the organization.
6. Monitor and evaluate the progress of urban planning projects, identifying and addressing any challenges or obstacles that may arise.
7. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, best practices, and industry trends in urban planning and design, and integrate innovative solutions into project development.
8. Provide expert advice and recommendations to senior management and other departments on urban planning matters, promoting a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
9. Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local communities, government officials, and industry professionals, to facilitate successful project implementation and community engagement.
10. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and standards in all urban planning activities, promoting sustainability and resilience in urban development.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in urban planning, urban design, or a related field, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
3. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team towards achieving project goals and objectives.
4. In-depth knowledge of urban planning principles, practices, and regulations, with a focus on sustainable and equitable urban development.
5. Proficiency in using urban planning software and tools, such as AutoCAD, GIS, and Adobe Creative Suite.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a strategic mindset.
7. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas and concepts to diverse audiences.
8. Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage budgets, and meet deadlines.
9. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders from various backgrounds and disciplines.
10. Professional certifications in urban planning or related fields are highly desired.
