We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Permanent Director of Safety and Compliance in the Manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing all safety and compliance programs within the organization. This role will ensure that all our operations adhere to legal standards and in-house policies. The role demands strategic planning to ensure the long-term success of our safety initiatives. The Permanent Director of Safety and Compliance will report directly to the CEO and will be a key player in the senior management team.

  • Develop and implement health and safety programs in compliance with OSHA and OHS regulations.
  • Ensure all safety and compliance programs are in line with DOT requirements.
  • Lead the development of organizational safety policies and standards to ensure safety and health of employees and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Develop and implement training programs for employees to promote awareness of health and safety protocols and compliance.
  • Oversee incident investigations, ensuring they are conducted promptly, thoroughly and effectively.
  • Report to the CEO on the performance of the safety programs and any necessary changes or recommendations.
  • Develop and manage the safety budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Collaborate with other departments to create a culture of safety throughout the organization.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role in the chemical/gas manufacturing industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA, OHS, and DOT requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing safety programs.
  • Excellent leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) credentials preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise a team effectively.
  • Ability to develop and manage budgets effectively.
  • Must be detail-oriented and possess excellent problem-solving skills.
