Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least 3 years of experience in a law firm, preferably supporting litigation teams
  • Strong knowledge of California State Court and Federal Court rules and deadlines
  • Prior experience with a law firm calendaring or docketing system such as ProLaw, CompuLaw, eDockets, CourtAlert, or similar software
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word skills and comfort learning new legal technology platforms
  • Typing speed of at least 50 WPM
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable
  • Strong follow-through and ability to manage time-sensitive work independently
  • Reliable and consistent attendance for the firm’s hybrid in-office schedule


Job Details

A respected Los Angeles law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Docket Clerk / Calendar Clerk to support its litigation team. This is a highly visible role for someone who understands the importance of accurate deadline tracking, court rules, and proactive docket management.

The Docket Clerk will be responsible for reviewing incoming litigation-related mail and filings, calendaring deadlines, and maintaining a complete electronic docket for matters involving discovery, motions, depositions, pre-trial deadlines, hearings, and other court-related events.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of law firm experience, strong knowledge of California State and Federal Court deadlines, and prior experience working with a legal calendaring or docketing platform such as ProLaw, CompuLaw, eDockets, CourtAlert, or a similar system.

Responsibilities:

  • Review incoming mail, notices, pleadings, and court filings for calendaring requirements
  • Calendar litigation deadlines, including discovery, motion practice, depositions, hearings, trials, pre-trial obligations, and filing deadlines
  • Maintain accurate and current electronic calendars and docket records
  • Calculate and monitor State and Federal Court deadlines
  • Coordinate with attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants regarding upcoming dates and procedural requirements
  • Review court notices and ensure deadlines are entered promptly and accurately
  • Assist with maintaining reliable docketing procedures and calendar protocols
  • Support a collaborative litigation team in a fast-paced law firm environment
