Job Details

As a Door & Hardware Estimator, you will play a critical role in preparing accurate and competitive bids for commercial interior doors and hardware. Your responsibilities will include reviewing plans and specifications, performing quantity takeoffs, pricing materials and labor, and coordinating closely with project managers and vendors. This position requires strong technical knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across teams to ensure bids are both comprehensive and profitable. You will contribute to maintaining the company’s reputation for quality and reliability by ensuring project estimates support successful execution.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze project documents, including blueprints, specifications, and scope of work related to doors and hardware
  • Prepare detailed and accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for materials, labor, and subcontracted work
  • Collaborate with project managers, purchasing, and subcontractors to validate assumptions and scope
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes to ensure competitive pricing
  • Prepare and submit bid packages on time in line with company standards and client expectations
  • Review completed bids for accuracy and completeness, identifying potential risks or opportunities
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of door and hardware products, codes, and industry trends
  • Contribute to estimating process improvements and documentation standards

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience with estimating construction, construction supplies, or similar
  • Experience with door and hardware estimating (preferred)
  • AHC - Architectural Hardware Consultant Certification or other DHI Certs i.e., CDC, EHC, AOC (preferred)
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Familiarity with construction documents, codes, and industry standards
