Job Details
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced EHS Engineer to join our dynamic team in the manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) program to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment. This role is essential in ensuring our operations are in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as corporate EHS standards. Responsibilities:
1. Develop, implement, and monitor company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
2. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
3. Investigate accidents, injuries, and complaints concerning hazards in the workplace.
4. Develop and provide training and programs to reduce EHS risks and promote awareness and adherence to safety and environmental policies among employees.
5. Lead the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives in EHS performance.
6. Prepare, maintain, and comply with federal, state, and local agency environmental reporting, permitting, and licensing.
7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into business processes, designs, and operations.
8. Respond to emergency situations and participate in incident investigations.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Safety, or related field.
2. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an EHS role within the manufacturing industry -- internships are applicable!
3. Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar certification is preferred.
4. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local health and safety, and environmental regulations.
5. Demonstrated ability to design and deliver training materials.
6. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
7. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management systems.
9. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
10. Must be able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
