Key Responsibilities and Duties
Serve as the company's EHS policy leader, partnering with the Plant Site Leader to ensure consistent application of EHS policy and principles
Inspect facilities to identify safety, health, and environmental risks; develop and run a schedule of routine inspections
Manage compliance with all regulatory agency requirements and participate in regulatory site audits
Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety procedures company-wide
Prepare, schedule, and deliver training on emergency procedures, workplace safety, and related topics; maintain training files
Track safety KPIs (injury, training) using appropriate software tools
Draft inspection reports documenting findings
Maintain SDS accessibility and records of hazardous-waste/pollutant exposure as required
Manage workers' compensation claims through depositions, claim reviews, attorney meetings, and adjuster requests
Implement controls and processes to mitigate material environmental risks
Qualifications Needed
Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, safety management, or similar (preferred, not required)
OSHA or similar EHS certification
Minimum 7 years' experience as an EHS coordinator or manager
Strong background in chemical-manufacturing EHS and material environmental-risk mitigation
Detailed knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and ANSI regulations
Ability to read and interpret safety data sheets (SDS)
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Strong leadership and training abilities; excellent written/verbal communication; strong attention to detail
