We are looking for an experienced and passionate EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) Manager for our manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing, implementing, managing, and continuously improving the safety programs within our organization. The EHS Manager will ensure the company is in compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations, and will keep abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines
  • Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety
  • Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards
  • Lead incident investigations to identify root causes and preventive measures
  • Manage workers' compensation claims in alignment with worker's compensation laws
  • Supervise EHS staff and contractors to ensure safety measures and protocols are followed
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop strategic plans for EHS policies and programs
  • Stay updated on industry trends, EHS regulations, and best practices
  • Conduct internal audits and lead external audits to ensure compliance with EHS regulations
  • Manage hazardous waste in compliance with RCRA and HWCA regulations
  • Ensure alignment with ISO certification requirements and promote ISO awareness
  • Develop and provide training on emergency preparedness and response procedures
  • Promote a culture of safety throughout the organization

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Safety Management, Industrial Safety or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry
  • In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations, including CAL EPA, RCRA, and HWCA
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
  • Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus
  • Valid qualification in occupational health and safety, such as NEBOSH certificate or diploma
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is preferred
  • Experience with hazardous waste management and emergency management
  • Familiarity with conducting environmental audits and implementing waste reduction strategies
  • CPR certification
  • Experience managing workers' compensation claims and understanding of worker's compensation laws.
