We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our engineering team. This role will be instrumental in maintaining the safety and well-being of our employees while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations. The EHS Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations. This position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the plant or manufacturing industry.

Job Details



Responsibilities:

1. Develop, implement and monitor comprehensive EHS programs and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
2. Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance, identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
3. Provide training and education to staff on EHS policies, procedures, and regulations.
4. Lead incident investigations, determining root causes, implementing corrective actions and communicating lessons learned.
5. Collaborate with plant and manufacturing teams to develop and implement safety and environmental initiatives.
6. Maintain records of EHS related incidents and compile statistics for management review.
7. Participate in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and make environmental, health and safety recommendations accordingly.
8. Stay informed about current legislation and regulations and ensure company-wide compliance.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 1 years of experience in EHS roles within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
3. Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
4. Experience with compliance, regulations, EHS, plant, and manufacturing.
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels within the organization.
6. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex data.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software to complete reports, logs, and documentation.
8. Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar certification is preferred.
