Position: Automation/Electronics Technician
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Automation/Electronics Technician to join our team. As an Automation/Electronics Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our automated systems and equipment. Your primary responsibilities will include PLC programming and troubleshooting, sensor and instrumentation calibration and maintenance, as well as electrical troubleshooting involving motors, sensors, and wiring insulation.
Key Responsibilities:
PLC Programming and Troubleshooting: Utilize your expertise in ladder programming to develop and modify programs for programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in our automated systems. You will be responsible for troubleshooting any PLC-related issues and implementing solutions to optimize system performance.
Sensor and Instrumentation Maintenance: Conduct regular calibration, testing, and maintenance of sensors and instrumentation devices used in our automated processes. This includes analyzing data and making adjustments to ensure accurate measurements and reliable system operation.
Electrical Troubleshooting: Apply your comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems to diagnose and resolve issues related to motors, sensors, and wiring insulation. You will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections, identifying faults, and implementing corrective measures to ensure proper functioning and safety.
Preventive Maintenance: Collaborate with the maintenance team to develop and implement preventive maintenance plans for automated equipment and systems. This involves conducting regular inspections, identifying potential issues, and proactively addressing them to prevent downtime and optimize performance.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance activities, including repairs, calibrations, and modifications. Prepare detailed reports on system performance, identified issues, and recommended improvements, providing valuable insights for continuous optimization.
Qualifications:
Ability to work 7 pm - 3 pm or 3 pm - 11 pm shift. (Hours are set and do not rotate!)
Education: A degree or diploma in Automation, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent work experience and certifications will also be considered.
PLC Knowledge: Proficiency in ladder programming and troubleshooting of programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Familiarity with other programming languages, such as Structured Text or Function Block Diagram, is a plus.
Sensor and Instrumentation Expertise: Experience with the calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various sensors and instrumentation devices commonly used in industrial settings.
Electrical Troubleshooting Skills: Strong understanding of electrical systems, including motors, sensors, and wiring insulation. Ability to diagnose and resolve electrical faults effectively and safely.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities to identify issues, analyze data, and develop effective solutions. Attention to detail and a systematic approach to troubleshooting are essential.
Communication and Collaboration: Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, maintenance technicians, and operators. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical personnel.
Safety Awareness: A solid understanding of workplace safety practices and regulations, with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Compensation:
We offer competitive compensation for this position, with a pay scale ranging from $35 to $38 per hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
